WHAT IS KEY CLUB?
Francis Lewis Key Club is a community service club, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Jamaica, focusing on helping our community and our school.

Following the motto, Caring: Our Way of Life, our members dedicate themselves to improving New York through our support of various causes, both small and large.
1. Pay dues ($20 / deadline Nov. 1st $22 after Nov.1st~ Dec. 1st). 2. Fill out dues form (Must be filled after payment)
3. Join our weekly meetings and sign up for events you would like to attend. (Make sure to join our social medias to get updated!)
4. Earn your community service hours by participating/volunteering at the events.

IF YOU JOIN
As an official member of Key Club International, you can:

participate in divisionals, rallies, meetings with our sponsoring Kiwanis Club

attend volunteer projects and events

run for a leadership position as a board member for the club, division, district or international

receive community service credit for college applications and NHS as well as exclusive Key Club awards

Can I join the club anytime?
Yes! but in order to be inputted into the Key Club system and be labelled as an official member, you will be required to pay $20 or $22 dues before the respective deadlines.

Make sure to buy an S.O. Card through the S.O. office to join any club. ($5)
Why pay Dues?
By paying dues, you will be able to run for higher office such as board, district, or even international positions! You will also be eligible to recieve an hours certificate and many awards at the end of the year.

FAQ
What if I don't pay Dues?
You can still participate in the club events. We will be keeping track of your hours until the due deadlines (even if you don't pay your dues) so that your hours can be added as soon as you pay. But after the deadline, you won't be able to receive any offical hours from Key Club or a Membership Certificate at the end of the year. You will also be unable to run for higher positions.
What is an Hours Certificate?
If you gain over 40 hours in a year (starting September - August), we are giving out hours certificates at the end so the members can prove that they finished 40 hours. Hours get refreshed at every start of the year.
Do I have to pay Dues every year?
You are not required to pay dues in order to be a member of Key Club. However, if you are interested in getting more involved through being an official member, and having the chance to be in committee or the board, you will need to pay the dues every year.
How do I join events?
There are new volunteer events almost every weekend! All you need to do is sign up through the form we post. Make sure to join our discord and follow FLHSKC Instagram to get updated with the newest info!
What are Meet Ups?
We gather with the board members before the each event and move to the event place together. This is not mandatory and locations + times will always be specificed on the forms!
